Frequently Asked Questions
What is the refinishing process?
Refinishing is the process of preparing a fixture such as a bathtub to receive a specially formulated coating. At Advanced Reglazing, we use high-grade polyurethanes only. These finishes are very durable, long lasting and produce a great finished product.
First, we clean the fixture with a 3-stage cleaner, then it is sanded to remove foreign agents and a bonding agent is applied. After repairs are made, we apply 5 coats of our special high-grade polyurethane coatings.
How long does the process take?
The typical bathtub, sink or tile job can be completed in 3 to 5 hours. You can use your newly refinished fixture within 36 hours after drying.
Do I need to leave the home?
No, however, the refinishing process is pretty smelly. We use an industrial fan to vent the fumes out a window. We request keeping the bathroom door shut for the first two hours of drying time, after that, bathroom window and doors can be opened to remove any excess fumes.
Can I do this myself?
The best jobs are completed by the pros, but if you cannot afford a professional, there are DIY products.
What is your service area?
We are a full service provider in the New York / New Jersey Tri-State Area, handling both residential and commercial refinishing jobs. We travel just about anywhere else on the East Cost for special commercial projects.
How long is your warranty?
Our coatings have a lifespan of 15 to 25 years with the proper care. The surface of the fixture is guaranteed by Advanced Reglazing against defects in workmanship and materials for 3 years providing the customer has properly maintained the fixture as recommended.
